SpotMedia.ro published an in-depth interview with Marian Călborean, CEO of OPTI Software, about the company's direction on AI adoption: artificial intelligence should not replace ERP, CRM, or other systems that are already working, but make them easier to use and more valuable.
After nearly two decades of software projects and integration work, OPTI is focused on building these kinds of AI layers on top of clients' existing data. The approach is already used in projects for distribution, manufacturing, and other B2B industries.
Examples from OPTI's projects
One example is AI Sales 2.0, the OPTI platform that connects ERP and CRM data with hybrid search, recommendations, assisted quoting, stock predictions, and conversational analytics. Existing systems and business rules remain the source of truth; AI helps users find, interpret, and use information faster.
The same idea is behind the AI Architecture 2026 program, OPTI's series of guides awarded by ANIS in 2026 for best research project.
Other topics from the interview
In the interview, Marian Călborean also talks about academic research, OPTI's status as a Google Cloud and HubSpot partner, and companies adopting AI without losing control over their data and business rules.
