Google Cloud Day Romania 2026: 3 Themes to Watch

According to the official website, Google Cloud Day Romania returns to Bucharest on September 29, 2026, with the official theme "Make it Happen with Google AI", and the program is still being finalized. We reviewed the agenda available on Google's official website and selected 3 themes worth following (Photo source: Google's official website).

For those interested in last year's edition, we documented how in 2025 we moved from hype to the implementation stage of artificial intelligence.

Three Themes from the Preliminary Program

Over half of this year's sessions are still TBA at the time of publishing this article, but among those already announced, the most interesting contributions can be grouped into three categories.

AI Connected to Real Business Data

Discussions will cover applying Google Cloud in real-world contexts, including banking, analytics, marketing, in sessions such as:

"Databases - How BigTable Powers Modern Banking"
"CLI to Production: Accelerating Enterprise Agent Deployment with Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform"
"Conversational Analytics in BigQuery with marketing data sets"

Why does it matter? In 2026, the challenge is connecting AI to real data: transactions, customers, or products. BigQuery and Google Cloud databases are becoming part of the architecture of AI applications.

Secure Production Architectures in the AI Era

These will include enterprise security patterns, secure digital workplace, agentic threat mitigation, in sessions such as:

"Trust in the Age of Agents: Enterprise Security for AI Platforms"
"Codemender in Action: Self-Defending Code & Agentic Threat Mitigation"
"Sovereignty by Choice: The Schwarz Group's Blueprint for a Secure Digital Workplace"

Why does it matter? The fact that the agenda brings together enterprise security, agents, and even self-defending code is a sign of technology maturing: security is treated at the architecture level, not added at the end.

Modernizing Existing Applications by Adding AI

This will probably be the theme with the widest applicability: how to add AI to an existing application. The announced sessions cover very different approaches:

"Evaluating models and getting the most out of Gemini"
"Predicting Your Favorite Meals: Implementing Recommendation Systems in Diet Catering"
"Conversational Genius: Elevating Customer Experiences with AI"

Why does it matter? Most companies' question is "Where and why is it worth adding AI on top of the software we already use?" For this theme, the hands-on workshops to be announced later will be particularly interesting.

Taken together, the three themes describe fairly well the shift in AI projects over the past year: the necessary alignment to an enterprise architecture where you build in order data > security > application.

OPTI at Google Cloud Day

Our colleagues will be attending Google Cloud Day. We are particularly interested in the sessions about modernizing and migrating legacy applications, problems we encounter in real projects.
